Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell started working as a TV and radio reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she joined CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV which was based in Washington DC (then WTOP). After two years, she joined NBC News as a Washington reporter. In 1981, she began covering for the White House, and in 1988 was named Chief Correspondent to Congress. She was made the chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell was host and panelists on the TV show Meet the Press. She was part of the panel at 1988 presidential debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for the John F. Kennedy School of Government. And in 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA), honored Mitchell for her role to the cause of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell's first White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. This period included the two Ronald Reagan terms in office. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy issues, such as the arms control, the budget tax and the Iran Contra scandal. She also traveled to various summits while in the company of President Reagan along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
